I should have gone into this finale with lowered expectations, as I usually do, but somehow I allowed myself to get hyped up for it, so the disappointment was even greater. Jared/Sam was the one ray of light in the whole stinking mess, but he wasn't enough to redeem the episode as a whole in my eyes.
Yeah, I think I let myself believe too that at least the finale would up the level of the game in some way. I’ve never seen such shoddy writing and direction. What the. I have no words.
Jared was wonderful, and I thought Jensen did the best he could too with the big pile of nothing he was given. Nothing could have salvaged this mess though.
Right? Robert Singer was directing, but it felt like they had an amateur behind the camera. And yeah, poor Jensen, I feel bad for him that that's what he had to work with.
Everything about the episode was such a textbook example of telling and not showing. It all becomes so much more cringeworthy because Show has already done the Michael/Lucifer thing so well in the past. Ugh ugh ugh. Poor J2. Poor Sam and Dean. What a way to destroy the legacy of a show that was once so brilliant. I’m laughing because the alternative is not worth thinking about. The glowing blue eyes at the end, LOL. Excuse me while I go scrub my brain.
Ha, yes, that line about Charlie and Rowena was gold. <3
I'm 100% behind desperate Sam trying to get Dean back. I'm thinking we'll have to console ourselves with the fic, because Show will probably rob Sam of that too. He didn't get to save Dean from Hell, he didn't get to even try to look for Dean when Dean was in Purgatory, and now he didn't get to kill Lucifer.
I suspect Ruth and Felicia are secretly just trying to console us.
Since we won't get what we want on Show anyway, we should start a petition to throw Lucifer and Castiel in the Empty and let them make faces at each other. I mean, they already have the expressions down pat.

Lucifer in Season 5 was so chillingly evil he made me feel sick. This season he was mostly just annoying and whiny. I hope he's really dead.

I have decided that this is the best thing to come out of that clusterfuck. Give me all the Rowena/Charlie roadtripping fic.
