Yuletide letter

Thank you so much for writing a story for me! I'm so glad we matched on one of these ~amazing fandoms that are all so close to my heart.
General likes: I adore plotless character studies that focus on grey areas and complicated relationships. Angst is good, as are ambiguous endings. I love literary references; characters loving books/libraries; gratuitous LotR references; poetry; trans and queer characters; fics that pass the Bechdel test; intelligent characters; people of colour, especially women; little details, fucked up relationships, open endings.
General dislikes: I don't have many of these, since I'm pretty easy to please. I dislike character-bashing and women being shown in a negative light. I also prefer to stay away from storylines that involve pregnancy and/or women portrayed primarily as mothers; heteronormativity, AUs, were-people, vampires, crack, penetration-focused sex, unambiguously happy endings. For sex, I'm not really squicked by anything except torture, bloodplay and fisting. I'm a strong advocate of animals' rights and would prefer not to read any explicit descriptions of meat-eating/hunting/leather/fur/etc.
The Talented Mr Ripley
I adore Peter to bits, and always always love to read fic that explores his character in any way. Gen-fic would be lovely, as would Peter/any male character, or friendship fic for Peter + Marge or Meredith, or Marge/Meredith. Fixits are wonderful too, but I love this film so much that I'd like absolutely anything related to it, and I don't mind angst at all, so allusions to the ending would be fine too. (I recently reread the book and was struck by how Tom thinks that he can’t do to Peter what he did to Dickie, which, IMO, is an awesome way to imagine how the ending of the film could have gone differently.)
The English Patient
I'd love something focused on either Hana or Kip. I would rather not see the Love Story of Hana/Kip, although that can be in the background. Backstory for either of them, or a scene in which they interact with one of the others in the villa, would be lovely. I also love stuff related to maps/landscapes/palimpsests. Anything exploring the loveliness that is this book/film and any of the awesome characters would be lovely.
A Suitable Boy
Any combination of Firoz, Maan, and Saeeda Bai would be lovely. While I love Seth's Dickensian style of writing in this book, it would also be lovely to see these characters through interior monologues, especially when Firoz and Maan angst over each other. *g*
The God of Small Things
This one is probably a very long shot since there's currently only one fic for this book on AO3, but hope springs eternal. I would absolutely love Rahel/Estha: any exploration of their bond, their shared trauma; perhaps an extension of the twincest scene at the end. Alternatively, I'd also love Ammu's point of view on Velutha or just about anything else that explores her fight to live in a world without boundaries. I love Arundhati Roy, period.
The Mandala of Sherlock Holmes
I recently re-read this fine novel, and was very moved by the ending in which Holmes is still around in the present time. I'd love to see his take, like Sir Ian McKellan's Holmes, on events such as Hiroshima and Nagasaki, or Tibet's fight for freedom. Hari's take on his adventures with Holmes would also be most welcome. Given the book's unfortunate lack of female characters, Irene Adler or any other female character from canon or even an OFC would also be very pleasing. I can also see definite possibilities for trans!Holmes or trans!Hari.
Deviations: The X-Files
I'm a sucker for femslash, so Scully/Samantha would make me very happy, but gen fic about these two women is also most welcome. I love Fox Mulder and Melissa Scully too, as well as just about any other character in this fandom, so feel free to include anyone you're fond of! I am absolutely on board with the inclusion of rarely written characters.
In sum: I absolutely love each of these fandoms and would LOVE to see the fandom you choose from your perspective, so feel free to write the sort of fic that you'd like to read. My adoration for each of these fandoms is unconditional, and I'm hugely excited and super-pleased that we have a common love for one of these lovely fandoms.
